Graphene foam is a three-dimensional porous lightweight material made from nanoscale graphene sheets as the basic unit, prepared through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or template methods. It has a porosity of over 95% and a density as low as 0.001–0.01 g/cm³. It features an ultra-high specific surface area (500–1500 m²/g), excellent electrical conductivity (conductivity > 10⁴ S/m), and thermal conductivity (in-plane thermal conductivity > 1500 W/(m·K)), while also being flexible, high-temperature resistant (stable below 500°C), and chemically stable. Its three-dimensional interconnected network structure provides efficient electron/ion transport channels, significantly enhancing rate performance and cycle life when used as an electrode material for supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries. It can also be used as a lightweight thermal/electromagnetic shielding material, sensor substrate, and oil–water separation medium, suitable for applications in new energy, electronic devices, and environmental management.
