Anatase nano titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a metastable crystalline form of titanium dioxide (TiO₂), belonging to the nanoscale (particle size 10 - 100 nanometers) tetragonal crystal system. It features a high specific surface area (50 - 150 m²/g), high surface activity, and unique photocatalytic and optical properties. Unlike rutile (the stable crystal form), anatase remains structurally stable below 600°C but easily transforms into rutile at high temperatures. Its crystal structure consists of closely packed oxygen ions with titanium ions in octahedral coordination, and the surface contains a large number of unsaturated coordinated titanium atoms and oxygen vacancies, providing strong oxidizing power, excellent ultraviolet photocatalytic activity, and high UV shielding ability. The appearance is usually a white to slightly yellow fluffy powder (or a uniformly dispersed solution). It possesses high chemical stability (acid and alkali resistant), is non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, making it a core nanomaterial for applications in photocatalytic degradation, environmental purification, functional coatings, and antibacterial materials.
